The high order numerical methods for partial differential equations have been paid more attention, for example, the weighted essential non-oscillation (WENO) method and discontinuous Galerkin (DG) finite element method are used widely and popularly now. This projection aims to provide a forum of communication and cooperation such that researchers in China and overseas can exchange their recent works on numerical aspects and applications, look for opportunities to cooperate, and explore the exciting new directions in the fields. To this end, top experts from China and overseas will be invited to make free discussion, academic reports and short-term seminar in Nanjing University. Moreover, we will hold the fourth international workshop on development and application of high order numerical methods, and give opportunity to young researchers to present their latest findings. This projection must attract the interests of more young researchers, strengthen the research team and improve the continuous development of high order numerical methods.
偏微分方程的高精度算法受到越来越多的重视,特别是目前流行且应用广泛的本质不振荡(WENO)方法和间断Galerkin(DG)方法。本项目的目标是搭建一个交流与合作的学术平台,让国内外学者交换前沿进展,寻求合作的机会,明确高精度算法的发展方向。为此,我们将邀请国内外多位专家到南京大学访问,进行自由讨论、学术报告和短期课程。期间,我们还将举办第四届高精度算法发展与应用国际研讨会。本项目将吸引青年学者的研究目光,壮大研究队伍,促进高精度算法的持续发展。
