The implementation of the national big data strategy and the development of modern science and technology have been promoting the application and development of the big data industry, especially the rapid development and wide application of artificial Intelligence, including the industrial network, the internet of things, intelligent transportation, information and financial economy. A series of complex mathematical optimization problems, such as large-scale data analysis and computation, have been generated in practical applications, which involves the interdisciplinary research on machine learning, statistics and operational optimization. This project aims to build up a platform for academic exchanges and cooperation. We will invite a number of experts at home and abroad to visit Beijing Jiaotong University. Through free discussion, short courses and special seminars, on the one hand, we discuss the progress of optimization method of big data, which offer the experts in statistics and machine learning to fully understand the latest achievements of optimization algorithm. On the other hand, we clear he main statistical machine learning and large-scale optimization problems in the real application, and determine the main direction of the theoretical analysis and algorithms on of t development. This will promote the depth intercross development between statistics, optimization and machine learning.
国家大数据战略的实施和现代科学技术的发展推动了大数据产业的应用和发展,特别是人工智能的快速发展和广泛应用,包括工业互联网、物联网、智能交通、信息和金融经济等领域。实际应用产生了一系列大规模数据理论分析和计算等复杂数学优化问题,这涉及机器学习、统计学和运筹学最优化学科的深入交叉融合,其中有许多值得研究的前沿交叉课题。本项目旨在搭建一个学术交流合作平台,我们将邀请国内外多位专家到北京交通大学访问,通过自由讨论、短期课程和专题国际研讨会等方式,一方面展现优化理论与算法研究的进展,使得大数据统计分析和机器学习领域专家充分了解优化算法研究的最新成果;另一方面,明确机器学习领域需要解决的数学问题,确定统计机器学习与大规模优化问题的理论分析和算法研究的主要发展方向,促进统计、优化与机器学习之间的深度交叉融合和协调发展。
