Maintainer and restorer DNA pools were established using the extreme sterile and fertile plants among (KJ5418A//911289/LK783) F1 population, respectively. One hundred and nightteen sets of STS and 79 sets of SSR primers, 418 RAPD primers, 33 ISSR primers, were screened for polymorphism between the two pools. Linkage analysis showed that Xgwm11、Xgwm18、Xgwm264a、Xgwm273、OPK18450 and UBC-845800 were linked to the restoring gene in LK783 with Xgwm11、Xgwm18 and Xgwm273 cosegregated. The distance between the Rf gene and Xgwm11(Xgwm18、Xgwm273)、Xgwm264a、UBC-845800 and OPK18450 was 6.54±4.37 cM、5.71±4.10 cM、8.20±4.85 cM and 15.07±6.28 cM, respectively. Using the six polymorphic markers would facilitate the breeding for new fertility restorer lines of K-type cytoplasmic male sterility of wheat. The four SSR markers and UBC-845800 were located on chromosome 1BS by amplifying nullitetrasomics and ditelosomics of Chinese Spring with the primers, indicating that the restoring gene in LK783 was located on 1BS..Since there exists some inconsistent between our result and others,we presumed that the composition of the maitainer 911289 was a small segment translocated line。We examined it with several methods, such as genomic in situ hybridization (GISH), biochemical marking , and DNA molecular marking. 911289 is a heterogeneous population which displays two distinct different types of translocation, the Robertsonian translocation and small segment translocation. In the small segment translocation the alien chromatin derived from the short arm of 1R chromosome of rye (1RS) and 911289 has lost the arm of 1BS or a small distal segment of it。
