The Tribe Nolini play an important role in phylogeny of Noctuoidea as they are the transitional taxa between Arctiidae and Noctuidae. Currently, there are still many questions to be resolved in the study of the taxonomy of Nolini, one of that is Nolinii, a paraphyletic group, sharing many of the same characters with Chloephorini and Westermanniini. A further research is likely to be urgently needed because these all limit the development and improvement of the study, especially causing a disorder in classification of genus. The Tribe Nolini always make a nagative effect upon plants, resulting in less gain and quality, and even a complete failure of crops. However, due to the small individuals and abundant species, and difficulties in collection and nominating of specimens, the control is always facing many difficulties, that is incorrect identification and scientific name confusion, in the process of investigation. Therefore, this study will reorder and revise Nolini in China to discuss its phylogenetic relationships and systematics system which is reasonablly in accord with natural evolution, and finally build the DNA molecule classified database combined classical taxonomy morphology and molecular biology based on decades of researches. Obviously, it will be a significance both in the taxonomy and identification of China and the whole world and the study of biological diversity and pest control if this project is allowed to be implemented.
瘤蛾族昆虫是灯蛾科和夜蛾科之间过渡类群,在夜蛾总科系统发育中占有独特地位。现对该族缺乏完善的分类系统,与Chloephorini, Westermanniini等均为并系群,许多特征存在交叉,致使其分类学研究受到很大局限,特别是属级阶元上非常混乱,亟需进行系统地厘定和体系的进一步探讨研究。该族昆虫发生时,其危害程度可导致减产、降低品质,甚至绝产。由于该族昆虫个体小、采集、制作困难、近似种类繁多、种群认识不足等问题存在,导致鉴定错误、误记载和学名混淆等问题经常出现,从而使调查、防治等工作受到很大的局限。因此,本项目将在多年研究基础上,运用形态分类学和分子生物学相结合的方法,对我国瘤蛾族进行系统整理和修订,探讨其系统发育关系、探讨合理的符合自然进化的分类体系;建立DNA分子分类数据库。本项目实施,对中国和世界夜蛾科昆虫的分类和鉴定,以及生物多样性的研究和害虫防治等工作具有重要意义。
本项目研究首次按照国际通用的新分类系统整理了我国瘤蛾族的分类阶元和种类名录,共整理21属、147种,将国内记录种类增加6属、51种;同时,列出欧亚大陆及非洲瘤蛾族名录41属、837种。发现15新种;发表30篇学术论文(包含SCI17篇),专著2部;通过分子生物技术分析了一些疑难属间关系;整理出部分种类寄主植物名录和习性。
