The genera and species of Herminiinae were belong to unstable groups of Erebidae in the current taxonomic status. At recently, subfamily Herminiinae with Hypenodinae, Hypeninae, Pangraptinae and Rivulinae subfamilies as paraphyletic group, but there is many cross characteristics, the delimitation is not obvious; the taxonomic status of more than 10 genera is not yet clear, and it is urgently needed to revise the system and an exploratory study of taxonomic status. The species of subfamily Herminiinae more small to medium-sized, so very difficult for collect and preparation, related species varied, such as lack of awareness of the species-group, lead to misidentification, error records and name confusion problems often occur, so that the work of investigation and research is limited. The project will use the taxonomy and molecular biology combined with the systematic collation and revision of our country the composition of its subfamily, fauna; identifying the distinguishing features of more than 10 genera of identification difficulties by combining molecular biological techniques with morphological characteristics, such as Hydrillodes, Adrapsa, Naarda; described new genus and species. This project is of great significance to the Chinese and world Noctuoidea in the classification and identification, as well as the study of biodiversity.
长须夜蛾亚科包含的属、种是当前目夜蛾科中分类学地位不稳定类群之一。当前将其与Hypenodinae、Hypeninae、Pangraptinae和Rivulinae等亚科作为并系群,但是许多属特征上存在交叉,划界不明显;超过10个属分类学地位还不明确,亟需进行系统的厘定和地位明确的探讨性研究。由于该亚科昆虫多个体微小至中型,采集和制作困难、近似种类繁多、种群认识不足等问题存在,导致鉴定错误、误记载和学名混淆等问题经常出现,从而使调查、研究等工作受到很大的局限。本项目将运用形态分类学和分子生物学相结合的方法,对我国该亚科进行系统整理和修订,研究其区系组成;通过分子生物学技术结合形态分类特征寻找鉴定困难的亥夜蛾属、疖夜蛾属、纳达夜蛾属等10多属的种类区别特征,并发现新属、种。本项目对中国和世界夜蛾总科昆虫的分类和鉴定,以及生物多样性的研究等工作具有重要意义。
在本项目启动前,中国已记录的长须夜蛾亚科有25属231种。通过本项目调查、研究的实施,进一步完善了我国该亚科种类的组成,以及一些种类的省市级的分布范围,并整理了出我国长须夜蛾亚科详细名录。截止2022年底,共厘清和列出34属391种,其中包含了153新种,3中国新记录属、7中国新记录种、以及4大陆新记录种,同时发表了35篇学术论文(包含SCI 26篇),2部专著。通过分子技术手段,测定了不同地域具有代表性的长须夜蛾亚科物种的线粒体COI基因的部分序列,进行了相关分析。
