Cosmopterigidae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea) is a specialized monophyletic family with asymmetrical male genitalia that play an important role in the phylogenesis of Gelechioidea. The family currently consists of 3 subfamilies, 135 genera and 1811 species across the world. Three subfamilies, 20 genera and 80 species are found in China. The study of Cosmopterigidae in China has been slow and has produced an unclear record of species, including many questionable species identified through outdated research methods. This project is designed to systematically study the classification of Cosmopterigidae in China by using morphological taxonomic methods, based on external morphologies and male and female genitalia. DNA barcoding will be used to detect differences between species and variation within species to determine the taxonomic status of questionable Cosmopterigidae species. These techniques will clarify the taxonomic chaos and provide a clean phylogeny of Cosmopterigidae in China. Furthermore, the existing geographic distribution pattern of Cosmopterigidae species in China from our field collection data and historical records will be analyzed and used to predict species distributions in unsampled regions with GIS technologies. This project can provide a foundation for future studies of Cosmopterigidae co-evolution with host plants, asymmetric male genitalia development, evolution and elucidate the significance of the specific organ in the phylogenetic study of the Gelechioidea.
尖蛾科隶属鳞翅目麦蛾总科,其雄性外生殖器不对称,是一个特化的单系类群,在麦蛾总科系统发育研究中占有重要地位。全世界已记录3亚科135属1811种,中国已知3亚科20属80种。我国尖蛾科分类研究比较薄弱,种类不清,疑难种较多,研究手段也有待提高。本课题主要通过形态分类的方法,依据外部形态与雌、雄外生殖器特征,系统地研究我国尖蛾科种类;同时,利用DNA条形码技术,分析基因序列在种间的差异和种内的变异程度,确定疑难种的分类地位。结合以上两方面研究,基本摸清中国尖蛾的种类,澄清目前我国尖蛾分类中存在的混乱。同时,基于野外采集记录和可靠文献记载,利用GIS技术制作分布图,分析我国尖蛾科种类目前的地理分布格局并预测可能的分布区。本研究可为深入研究尖蛾科昆虫与其寄主植物的协同进化、不对称雄性外生殖器的发育与演化规律及其在麦蛾总科系统发育中的特殊意义奠定基础。
尖蛾科已知近2000种,广泛分布于世界各地,其雄性外生殖器不对称,是鳞翅目麦蛾总科中非常特化的单系类群,在麦蛾总科系统发育研究中占有重要地位。但我国尖蛾科分类研究基础比较薄弱,种类不清、疑难种较多,研究手段也有待提高,亟需进行系统地研究。.本项目补充采集了小蛾类标本3万余号,其中包括大量尖蛾科标本。以外生殖器特征为最终判定依据,辅以形态和DNA条形码技术,对我国尖蛾科昆虫进行了系统分类研究,订正了错误鉴定等分类学问题。发现尖蛾科昆虫新物种21个;2个中国新纪录属和31个新纪录种。使我国尖蛾科昆虫由20属80种,上升到22属132种,物种数增加了52.5%,澄清了尖蛾科的分类学混乱,摸清了我国尖蛾科属、种地理分布格局。承担科学出版社《中国小蛾类名录》等专著的“尖蛾科”撰写工作,推进了中国尖蛾科Cosmopterigidae的系统分类研究,为中国尖蛾科鉴定体系及分类数据库的建立打下了基础。.项目还研究了采集地寄主植物上,除尖蛾以外,其它危害严重的蛀食性小蛾类昆虫的形态和行为特性,探索了小个体蛾类的采集、人工饲养、DNA条形码、内生殖系统解剖、行为学和适生区分析的方法。为进一步研究尖蛾等小个体蛾类的行为和物种分化奠定了基础。.在国内外学术期刊上已经发表研究论文6篇,其中SCI二区期刊论文2篇(Agricultural and Forest Entomology和Scientific Reports各1篇),北大中文核心期刊3篇。另有1篇论文被Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata接收待刊。正在投稿论文2篇。参编专著3部。培养硕士研究生6名。
