持股特征和融资结构视角下企业创新行为：基于全球数据的实证研究

Using a large set of publicly-listed firms in global markets, this project investigates the impact of a firm’s shareholding features and financing structure on its R&D investment and output. More specifically, we examine, 1) how short-selling and noise trading affect a firm’s innovation and what the underlying channels and economic consequence of such effect may be; 2) how foreign institutional investors, and the heterogeneity of their investment objective, institutional features and the innovation culture of countries on which foreign institutions are based, affect domestic firms’ innovation; 3) how the pricing and non-pricing terms of bank loan contracts vary across firms with different innovation characteristics; 5) how the change in the investor protection law and regulatory environment under which a firm operates leads to the variation of a firm’s innovation. Finally, the project studies the financial determinants of the innovation activity of non-publicly-listed firms in China. This project contributes to the literature by focusing on research questions that have received insufficient attention from existing studies. The findings offer some policy implication in the real effect of financial markets on the economy, which can be of important to practitioners and policy-makers in China.

本课题采用一系列全球上市公司数据，基于企业的持股特征和融资结构的视角分析金融市场因素如何影响企业的研发费用投入和成果的产出。研究集中在文献较少或尚未涉及的企业创新行为的几个具体问题：1）卖空者和噪音交易者行为对企业研发投入和产出的影响、影响的渠道以及影响的经济意义；2）境外机构投资者持股以及其不同的投资目标、持股属性和属地创新文化等特征对本地企业创新的影响；3）银行贷款契约中价格条款及非价格条款和贷款企业的创新属性的关系；4）企业债务融资手段和债务结构对企业创新投入和产出的影响；5）投资者保护法律和企业受到的监管环境的变化前后企业创新行为的变动轨迹；6) 中国非上市中小企业创新行为中金融因素的影响。课题旨在填补企业创新文献在这些研究领域的空缺，同时为我国金融体系改革如何更有效地支持企业科技创新提供国际借鉴经验和政策建议。

本课题基于金融市场和企业创新关系的理论框架、研究分析方法，采用全球数据分别从企业的持股特征和融资结构视角研究不同投资者的行为和不同融资手段和结构对企业创新动力的影响；基于中国数据研究中国企业创新行为中的金融因素。课题同时在计划外延伸研究了一系列市场微观结构、资产定价和行为金融相关问题。目前按课题计划和展开的几个研究课题已经取得很好的成果。.项目主持人已经取得8篇期刊论文（其中2篇金融时报（Financial Times）用于商学院评比的50本经管类顶级期刊，4篇SSCI期刊，1篇非SSCI国际权威期刊，1篇CSSCI期刊论文），两项项重要的研究成果（担任SSCI期刊《Economic Systems》特刊“Financial System and Development in China”的特约主编和国际期刊China Finance Review International的编委成员），4篇国际会议论文的成绩。项目主持人共培养了2名年轻研究员和2名博士研究生。项目负责人在完成本项目期间3次出国进行学术交流，参加了4次国际学术会议，报告项目的研究成果，扩大了学术影响。
