The silicon strip detector is a high performance semiconductor detector with features of precise spatial resolution, good energy resolution, fast response time and wide linear range. It has been widely used in high-energy physics, nuclear medicine, astrophysics and so on. Because of the limited resource and bad environment on board satellite platforms, the readout electronics for silicon strip should be low noise, low power dissipation, and has functions of online data compressing and cluster finding. Silicon detector based on P-N junction was employed in this project to study the low noise readout technology with ASIC for space application. Two problems were focused on in this study. One was the low-noise readout design for strip detector and ASIC based on Chip On Board (COB) techenology, the other was the online compress algorithm for the readout data based on FPGA.
