On the basis of laboratory test results of high-quality, the objectives of this research project are 1) to investigate the mechanism of large poat-liquefacton deformation in saturated sand subjected to an undrained shearing condition of either monotonic or cyclic loading, 2) to find new dilatancy law for the condition of cyclic shearing applications, 3) to establish new constitutive model for the description of large post-liquefaction deformation for saturated sand, and 4) to develop new methods for the prediction of settlements and lateral spreading of liquefiable sandy ground.
