Structured data computing (SDC) is one of the hot issues in the field of large-scale data computing. Due to communication and I/O consumption, there is a problem about high power consumption and low efficiency when the computer processes large-scale SDC requests, which is called as “SDC’s high power consumption and low efficiency (SDC-HCLE)” problem. Ternary optical computer (TOC) has two characteristics such as numerous data bits and reconfigurable processors, which make it very suitable as a new computing resource of parallel computing platform (PCP) to solve the SDC-HCLE problem. This project will be devoted to studying a new ternary optical processor (TOP) and the key technologies about its integration into PCP. The main research contents include three parts, which are ①the design and realization of thousand-bit double-rotator-structure TOP (T-DRSTOP), ②the communication model of PCP integrated with T-DRSTOP, and ③the application framework of SDC in the PCP. Finally a PCP prototype is built based on the above researches. Through the study of this project, we will not only develop a more efficient TOP to solve the SDC-HCLE problem, but also establish a collaborative work model between the optical computing component and the electronic computing component, which will bring new ideas to solve the large-scale data computing problem.
结构量运算(Structured Data Computing,SDC)是当前大规模数据运算的热点问题之一。因通信和I/O的消耗,电子计算机在处理大规模SDC请求时表现出了高能耗和低效率的问题,称为SDC高耗低效问题。三值光学计算机具有数据位数众多和处理器可重构两大特点,这使得它非常适合于作为并行计算平台的一种新型计算资源,解决SDC高耗低效问题。本课题致力于研究新型三值光学处理器及其融入并行计算平台的关键技术,主要研究内容包括:①千位双旋光结构三值光学处理器的设计与实现;②融入千位双旋光结构三值光学处理器的并行计算平台的通信模型;③SDC在该并行计算平台中的应用框架。最终将在上述基础上构建出并行计算平台样机。通过本项目的研究,不仅将研制出更高效的三值光学处理器,解决SDC高耗低效问题,而且将建立光学计算部件与电子计算部件的协同工作模型,为解决大规模数据运算问题带来新思路。
