This project researched massively parallel processing using optical interconnections. There are many disadvantages on traditional electrical interconnection network, which limited improvement of parallel computer system performance. Optics offer many benefits for interconnecting large numbers of processing elements, but may require us to rethink how we build parallel computer systems and communication networks, and how we write applications. Fully exploring the capabilities of optical interconnection networks requires an interdisciplinary effort. According to concluding and analyzing both domestic and foreign research accomplishment in this field, and our research harvest on parallel computer system based on optical interconnection, we write a monograph on this field named "Optical Interconnection and Parallel Processing". Furthermore, 7 Chinese and English science articles are published. This project will promote development of optical interconnection and parallel processing in our country.
应用WDM进行网络并行计算系统结构的设计,探索基于WDM的各种互连结构、虚拟群组路由、消息传递协议、并行负载分配策略、高速缓存一致性协议及分布存储多计算机模型等,并通过仿真试验和建模分析来评价系统的结构和性能。从而为我国日益增长的中大型事务处理与并行计算等应用提供高新平台模型,并为同类系统的结构设计提供必要的理论与技术。.
