These.life science-related chemical processes have been studied in mimetic biological.systems by using theories and experimental approaches of physical organic chemistry.and free radical chemistry to evaluate the chemical basis of their physiological.functions. Important progress has been obtained in the following fields: (1) Reduction.mechanism of co-enzyme NADH and electron transfer reactions of biologically active.molecules; (2) Aggregation, deaggregation and self-coiling of organic molecules.induced by hydrophobic/lipophilic interactions and application of free radical spin.delocalization parameter σ..JJ; (3) photoinduced electron transfer, energy transfer and.chemical transformation in supramolecular systems; (4) Electron transfer and free.radical transfer of nitric oxide; (5) Synergistic and microenvironmental effects of.bio-antioxidants.
