围绕东海陆架边缘内外海洋通量的交换过程，组织协调各课题收集历史资料，在关键海域设置若干断面进行以碳及有关生源要素为主的背景场观测，开展三航次的现场调查。向本项目碳的输送转移规律，水平通量，垂直通量以及模式研究提供科学数据和基础资料。并对关键海域吸收二氧化碳的能力和控制海洋碳通量的化学，生物因素作专题研究。
