研制模拟典型水域控制碳垂直通量过程，计算垂直通量。研制东海边缘海洋通量的综合模式，与实测相结合，进行计算，估价东海对太平洋碳及有关物质收支平衡的贡献，为太平洋与全球海洋通量研究提供重要信息。这是我国首次研制多学科的综合模式，为推动我国海洋多学科综合研究作出重要贡献。
