Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Southeast China (“TMSE” as an abbreviation) was officially established in January, 2019. Since its inception, focusing on topics on mathematics and its application such as “Differential Geometry, Complex Geometry and Geometric Analysis”, “Algebra and Algebraic Geometry, Number Theory and Representation Theory”, “Partial Differential Equation Theory and Numerical Methods” and “Discrete Mathematics and Optimization”, the center has developed various academic activities in the form of mini courses, workshops, seminars, Nanqiang Lectures, Mathematician’s Lectures and colloquiums. The center has also invited visiting scholars and recruited post-doctors. All the above activities have achieved notable results. Guided by the Academic Leadership Committee of the Tianyuan Mathematics Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Academic Committee of TMSE, the center will focus on frontiers research topics and continue to organize high-level, first-class and international activities, such as pooling high-caliber talents, cultivating young mathematicians and promoting international cooperation, thus to obtain significant research achievements. With the great support of Xiamen University and the joint efforts of its partner universities of TMSE, the center will make great strides in fostering first-class mathematical talents, undertaking world-class research and developing into a world-renowned platform for talent cultivation, joint research and academic cooperation.
国家天元数学东南中心于2019年1月正式成立。自成立以来,中心针对数学及其应用领域中的“微分几何、复几何与几何分析”,“代数与代数几何、数论与表示论”,“偏微分方程理论与数值方法”和“离散数学与优化”等专题,开展了形式多样的系列学术活动,如短课程、专题研讨会与专题讨论班、访问合作研究项目、南强讲座、名家讲堂和Colloquium等学术讲座、招收博士后等,成效显著。在基金委天元数学基金学术领导小组的领导及中心学术委员会的具体指导下,东南中心将继续秉承“高层次、高水准、国际化”的原则,针对若干专题,举办系列学术活动,聚焦科学问题,凝聚研究队伍,培养青年学术骨干,深化国内外专家的合作,取得重要科研成果。在厦门大学的大力支持和共建单位的不懈努力下,立足东南、面向世界,培养一流数学人才,取得一流科研成果,建成在国际上有重要影响,融合人才培养、合作研究、学术交流等功能的一流平台。
