Being combining biotechnology with microcalorimetry, and microbiological genetics with thermochemistry, the metabolic characteristics of Halobacterium halobium and the special function and activity of gene promotors coming from Halobacterium halobium have been investigated. The special gene promotors can promote gene expression in Escherichia coli, Saccharomyces cereviae and Bacillus thuringinesis, the metabolic characteristics changing caused by gene expression has been disclosured. By DNA sequence analysis, its function in system development and evolution has been discussed, it has supplied a lot of important information for the development and utilization of special gene promotors. The research results imply that microcalorimetry can be used as a new method in the detection of gene expression. The research results of NSFC 29973030 has published 28 papers, including 23 SCI papers and 3 EI papers, it has formed a new way of intercrossing and infiltration among disciplines. The research of this project has won 7 awards, such as "Teaching and Research Award for Outstanding Young Professors, MOE", "Wuhan Science and Technology Originality Innovation Award for Outstanding Youth", "Hubei Science and Technology Award for Outstanding Young Scientist", "Hubei Natural Science Award, fist-class Award", "Outstanding Youth of Wuhan University" and "Excellent Teachers Award of Baogang Education Foundation" etc. The research of NSFC 29973030 has reach its anticipation.
