The theory and technique of Smart Antenna is one of the most important break-through of wireless communication in the end 20th century. Focusing on the network behavior of smart antenna, this work has studied the optimization in a network using both smart antenna and power control, which have joint effects on the network performance. The important achievements of the work includes: definition the concepts of "feasibility of power allocation" and "network congestion" as well as their mathematical presentations; description of spatial spreading of wireless channel by power angle spectrum, which is found in a form of trunked Laplace function; Characterization of the spatial spread wireless channel in urban area in term of different constructional parameters, etc. Based on these, the network performance are analyzed with effects of different antenna characteristics, power control accurate, transmission quality requirements, user spatial distribution and propagation characteristics. These will contribute large value to the development of the smart antenna's theory and technology as well as application in the future wireless communication network.
智能天线是无线通信系统的一项关键前沿技术,本课题不同于大量已有的物理层次的研究,而采用物理层与网络层协同研究的方法,从网络层角度研究智能天线与无线资源控制相关的特性,包括智能天线对网络无线资源分配、初始接入和覆盖收缩的影响。这对于将智能天线有效地用于下一代移动通信网络和进一步优化网络性能具有重要的理论意义和现实应用前景。
