Caused by extensive development and application of rare earth resources, the rare earth background contents in some areas are higher, which resulted in the ecological risk. The research for rare earth elements enrichment in atmospheric particulates caused by mining and ore processing is fairly limited so far; especially the study on risk assessment of human health when exposure to rare earth elements is a relatively new filed, with few academic monographs of achievements in the respect. Therefore, there is serious requirement for deeper research. After nearly 50 years' accumulation, the rare earth elements contents are higher in the surrounding environment around Baotou tailing reservoir. And the surrounding residents' health has been threatened by rare earth elements accumulation. In this study, in order to reveal rare earth exposure and exposure dose, the biogeochemical characteristics of rare earth elements in atmospheric PM2.5 around the tailings dam will be studied. And in the sake of providing a scientific basis for environmental pollution control of rare-earth tailings dam, combining with detection on the contents of rare earth elements distributions of personal exposure around the tailings dam, this study will focuse on cross and comprehensive research of the geochemical behavior of rare earth and environmental health effect.
稀土资源的广泛开发与应用,造成部分地区环境中的稀土背景含量较高,从而引起生态环境风险。目前国内外关于稀土高背景区大气环境中稀土元素环境行为的研究相对薄弱,特别是对稀土元素呼吸暴露健康风险的评估研究甚少,迫切需要系统、深入的研究。包头稀土尾矿坝经过近50年的积累,造成外源稀土在尾矿坝区周围大气环境的富集,周边居民长期处于高浓度稀土暴露威胁。本研究通过分析尾矿坝区大气细颗粒物PM2.5中稀土元素的地球化学特征,揭示个体通过呼吸途径的稀土暴露剂量,开展稀土地球化学行为和环境健康效应的交叉与综合研究,为稀土尾矿坝区的环境污染整治提供科学依据。
稀土资源的广泛开发与应用,造成部分地区环境中的稀土背景含量较高,从而引起生态环境风险。目前国内外关于稀土高背景区大气环境中稀土元素环境行为的研究相对薄弱,特别是对稀土元素呼吸暴露健康风险的评估研究甚少,迫切需要系统、深入的研究。包头稀土尾矿坝经过近50年的积累,造成外源稀土在尾矿坝区周围大气环境的富集,周边居民长期处于高浓度稀土暴露威胁。本研究通过分析尾矿坝区大气细颗粒物PM2.5中稀土元素的地球化学特征,揭示个体通过呼吸途径的稀土暴露剂量,开展稀土地球化学行为和环境健康效应的交叉与综合研究,为稀土尾矿坝区的环境污染整治提供科学依据。PM2.5(空气动力当量直径小于或等于2.5μm的颗粒)污染受到越来越多的关注。本项目收集了中国北方最大的稀土元素(REE)加工城市包头不同地区的PM2.5样品,分析了PM2.5中14种稀土元素的浓度和分布模式,并评估了与PM2.5相关的REE吸入暴露。结果显示,夏季和春季包头地区稀土元素含量分别为56.88和15.26 ng m-3,远高于非稀土矿区。稀土元素的分布格局表现出轻稀土富集。根据背景土壤和矿石确定了轻微的Eu正异常和负Ce异常。包头市PM2.5吸入暴露人群平均每日摄入量为5.09E-07-2.25E-05mg/kg.day。研究成果不仅可以丰富稀土生物地球化学的内容,也可以为典型地区的稀土环境污染整治提供科学依据。
