不完全契约视角下经济制度影响企业创新的机制研究

Economists commonly agree that economic institutions promote the rational allocation of resource, but firms in China tend to conduct innovations in cities where the qualities of economic institutions are averagely weak. To settle the Chinese institutional puzzle, this program is planned in the incomplete contracts perspective to explore how the qualities of economic institutions affect corporate innovation. This program is designed to ⑴figure out the basic pattern and trend of economic institutions and corporate innovation in China, ⑵explore the mechanism through that economic institutions affect corporate innovation, ⑶explain how strategic practices affect the institutional quality upon a firm and then the firm’s innovations and ⑷offer policy suggestions with a numeral simulation. For one thing, these works will reveal what is in the black-box between economic institutions and corporate innovation. For another, these works explains how firms strategically guarantee higher qualities of economics institutions and then innovation investments/capacities. Our research designs contribute to the methodology literature by offering several feasible instrumental variable methods. Our policy suggestions will be highly relevant for the China’s institutional designs and innovational development during the 13rd five-year plan.

一个好的经济制度能够促进资源的有效配置是现有文献中的一个共识，然而，中国企业往往选择经济制度薄弱的地区进行创新投入和产出。为了解释这个经济制度对企业创新的作用之谜，本项目在不完全契约视角下研究经济制度对企业创新的影响机制。其研究内容包括：⑴制度质量和企业创新的基本格局，⑵制度质量影响企业创新的中间机制，⑶企业的策略性行为对制度质量与企业创新的作用，⑷通过数值模拟提供的政策建议。通过这些研究内容，我们旨在揭开经济制度促进企业创新的黑箱，并且，分析企业为寻求更高制度保障而采取的策略性行为，进而完整地刻画经济制度对企业创新的影响机制。同时，本项目为识别影响机制而提供的多种工具变量还可能为这方面的经验研究做出贡献，相关的经验研究结果也将为当下中国的制度建设和创新发展提供重要的参考建议。
