The bagworm family (Psychidae) is one of the important families in Lepidoptera, with great economic significance in Agriculture and Forestry. However, their identification and classification are mainly based on the male adults because their female adults mostly do not have wings. Therefore, the only more than 20 species were reported repeatedly or sporadically in China prior to this study,which severely restricts the development of related disciplines.This project focuses on the systematic study of Psychidae from China based on morphological characters of larvae, bags and adults, as well as molecular data. We aim at identifying and discovering new species, clarifying the long-standing chaos of the classification systems, and constructing DNA barcoding database of important species in China. On the bases of our studies, this project will reconstruct the phylogenetic relationships of high level taxa of Psychidae. Completion of the project will supply a gap of the systematic study on Psychidae in China.
蓑蛾科Psychidae属于鳞翅目谷蛾总科Tineoidea,是林木、果树、行道树、农作物和蔬菜上的重要害虫。然而,蓑蛾科昆虫的雌蛾大多数无翅,平时见到的基本上都是幼虫,但主要依靠雄蛾进行种类鉴定和分类。因此,国内长期以来对该科仅有零散报道,各类书刊总共涉及20余种, 严重制约了相关学科的发展。本项目将综合利用幼虫特征、囊袋特征、成虫特征和DNA信息,全面、深入地开展我国蓑蛾科区系的研究,期望摸清我国蓑蛾家底,解决长期困扰生产实践的分类疑难问题和种类鉴定问题。同时,建立蓑蛾重要种类的DNA条形码数据库;以比较形态学、分子生物学资料为基础,重建蓑蛾的系统发育关系,修订和完善蓑蛾的分类体系。该项目填补了我国该研究领域的空白,具有重要的科学意义。
