Abstract For a step-stress pattern,step stess applies stress to the.experimental units such that the stress on a unit is changed at pre-specified.times,and that will affect the failure distribution of the unit and statistical analysis.Up till now,there have been four corresponding models of statistical analysis:(1)The cumulative exposure model (called CE model);(2)The tampered random.variable model (called TRV model);(3)The tampered failure rate model(called TFR.model);(4)Khamis and Higgins(1998)prpose a model(called KH model).We show that the KH model is not a new model but is a special case of the multiple step stress TFR model for Weibull distribution,conditions for the coincidence of the TFR ,TRV and CE models. For Weibull distribution, we give the AMLE and inverse moment method of estimation under the TFR model. We proved the uniqueness of the MLE of the Weibull distribution under the TFR model. We discussed the statistical.test methods of TFR model and CE model. We propose the statistical analysis method of the progressive stress accelerated life testing for the TFR model under the Weibull distribution, give the interval estimates of CE model for the step-stress accelerated life testing,the statistccal analysis methods of the constant stress.accelerated life testing under multiple type-Ⅱ censoring and the moment method.for no complete sampling.
