The Karst Area in Western Guangxi and Southern Guizhou, one of the key areas for research into the biodiversity in China, is one area of the national biodiversity conservation priority area. Araneae are one of the first largest orders in the Arachnida (total 11 orders), are the most familiar of the arachnids, and the most species-rich, currently including 45862 species grouped in 3981 genera and 114 families, worldwide, and among them, 4282 species in 735 genera and 69 families are reported in China. The area is home to 145 species of spider only, included in 79 genera and 30 families, among them, including 25 endemic species. This number was established after a primary review of the existing literature and taxonomic revision of some available collections containing spider material from this area.. Recent some data, documents and the fact finding in the area have provided an undeniable advance in identifying the ecosystem diversity, as well as establishing the abundant biodiversity. It is certain that many undescribed species wait discovery from this area. Nevertheless, the Aranea remain an assemblage of poorly defined genera and species, among which hypothesized relationships have yet to be examined thoroughly. . Here we want continue to investigate the species of the order, during which new taxa will be found and described (about 50 new species based on the specimens collected from the area), to analyze the Araneae faunal composition, the species diversity, the diversity of geographical, ecological and resource types of Araneae species. In order to understand how these different traits evolved, a clear picture of phylogenetic relationships is required, base on research data. Their high percentage suggests an important process of autochtonous speciation in the context of paleo-environmental changes since Pliocene. Therefore, research on the diversity of Araneae in the area can provide not only basis for the construction and management, development and utilization of the resources, and sustainable development of the area, but also help to monitor the whole situation of the ecological environment in the region and the surrounding areas, and help to carry out research and protection of biodiversity.
桂西黔南石灰岩区是中国生物多样性研究的关键区域,也是生物多样性保护优先区域之一。蜘蛛目是蛛形纲动物11个目中最大的一个目,种类丰富,全球已科学描述114科3981属45862种,中国已知有69科735属4282种。据初步调查研究,该区蜘蛛目动物仅知有30科79属145种,含25个桂西黔南石灰岩区特有种。. 根据资料和实地调查,桂西黔南石灰岩区的生态系统多样性和生物多样性极其丰富。毫无疑问,该区域还有大量未曾描述的蜘蛛种类需深入调查研究,一些界定模糊的属和种,需进行新的校定。. 本项目将系统地调查研究该区域的蜘蛛类群,建立新的分类单元(50个左右);系统研究其种类组成、物种多样性、地理类型多样性、生态类型多样性及资源多样性;以调查研究数据为基础,重点开展分类学研究以揭示该区域蜘蛛目动物的演化规律;结合上新世以来古环境变化资料,研究该区域特有种的动物地理特征,探索物种形成机制
