A systematic study is conducted on the intelligent computer-aided design (ICAD) of zoom optical systems. The emphases of the study are placed on key technical problems such as the first-order design for zoom lenses with multiple moving groups, the automatic generation of zoom lens initial constructions, and the optimization of image quality. A new computable method of determining Gaussian parameters is proposed, in which the cam curves are optimized with the numerical aperture of each lens group constrained to a rational value. A mechanism is established for the automatic addition and deletion of optical elements during the course of lens optimization. Related features are implemented in the GOLD software developed under the continuous support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, which can now realize the ICAD for various types of zoom lenses and multi-configuration systems. The software is widely used in China, and it plays an important role in the design and development of new products such as zoomable stereo microscopes by the Chinese optical industry.
在国内首次系统地研究变焦距光学系统的设计方法,将在多组元全动型变焦系统高斯光学参数的确定方法、初始结构的自动设计、优化计算中的特殊控制、非球面和衍射光学元件的合理应用等方面做出创新性工作,为高像质、大变倍比、小型化变焦镜头提供一整套智能化设计。对提高我国光学工业的国际竞争能力和军用光学系统的设计水平具有重要的意义。
