It was revealed by this project that the bentazon lethality of the mutant 8077 was controlled by a single recessive gene, which was named bel., located on chromosome 3 with 7.1cM from the closest microsatellite marker RM168. This is the first herbicide resistent gene mapped in the rice genomy. It is valuable in the development of a two-line hybrid rice breeding system for preventing impurity resulting from fertility fluctuation of the TGMS. Two new TGMS lines with bel., named "M Pei-Ai 64S" and "M Guang-zan 63S", had been developed using molecule marker assisted selection by RM55 and RM168. These new TGMS lines with bentazon sensitivity can be also used for purity test in seed production. This achievement had been patented and wined the prize of the Hubei province government in 2002.
水稻化学致死突变体8077是采用辐射诱变育成,其纯合体能被药剂选择性杀死而杂合体安全,因而能有效用于杂交水稻除杂保纯并具有我国完全知识产权。本研究采用RFLP、SSLP、AFLP等DNA标记技术对该突变性状进行精细基因定位,从而为该突变性状的分子标记辅助转育,该突变基因的深入研究和最终克隆提供基础。本研究将有力推动两系杂交稻的研究和推广利用。.
