Many researches related to cocaine reported that one of the main toxic targets of cocaine was dopaminergic system. The damage of dopaminergic system, which can regulate the growth and differentiation of neuron and control learning activity, will lead to the disorder of brain structure and function. We built up murine models who exposed to different dose cocaine in uterus in order to study the effects of prenatal cocaine exposure on mothers and offspring from the aspects of morphology, biochemistry and praxiology. We found that high dose prenatal cocaine exposure resulted in the death or the abortion of mothers. Low dose prenatal cocaine exposure lead to mother malnutrition and abnormal placentodevelopment. In addition, the content of dopaminergic neurotransmitter in cocaine fetus brains exited significant difference compared with control. Middling dose prenatal cocaine exposure caused the decent of offspring' brain weight and body weight, the abnormal function of dopaminergic system and structure of cortex and damaged their space distinguish abilities. These results above offered the neurobiology and morphology evidence to uncover the mechanism of cocaine toxicity which is important to improve the qualities of population.
