计算机实验中的若干统计问题研究

“Design and analysis of experiments” studies scientifically the theory and methodology in design of experiment plans and analysis of experimental data. It plays an important role in industrial and agricultural production, biological medicine, space technology, and many other fields. Nowadays a trend in these fields is to broadly use computer experiments. Therefore the design and analysis of computer experiments becomes a hot area in experimental design. This project will study some statistical issues concerning computer experiments, including (1) modeling, computation, and statistical inference for large-scale experimental data, (2) flexible designs for computer experiments, (3) optimization for complex computer models, and (4) interdisciplinary issues concerning computer experiments between statistics and applied mathematics, machine learning, or other fields. The main goal of this project is that, through the above researches, domestic researches on several areas in computer experiments will reach or approximate the international standard.

“实验的设计与分析”研究科学地设计实验计划与分析实验数据的理论和方法，在工农业生产、生物医药、空间技术等领域发挥着重要作用。目前在各领域的一个趋势是计算机仿真实验的大量应用，因此计算机实验的设计与分析成为了实验设计领域的热点方向。本项目研究与计算机实验相关的若干统计问题，包括 (1) 大尺度计算机实验数据的建模、计算与统计推断；(2) 计算机实验的灵活设计方法；(3) 复杂计算机模型的优化；(4) 与计算机实验有关的统计学与应用数学、机器学习等学科的交叉问题。本项目的主要目标是：通过以上各项研究的开展，努力使得国内在计算机实验领域的若干研究方向达到或接近国际水平。
