Based on the great demands for food security of our country and frontier fields of life sciences, the major project, named as “the genetic regulatory network analysis of yield-related traits in major crops”, will focus on the following four research fields: biological and functional analysis of key genes about plant architecture development and seed development in rice and maize;genetic regulatory networks of plant architecture development and seed development in rice and maize;genetic regulatory networks interactions between plant type development and seed development in rice and maize; theories of molecular designs of high-yield breeding for rice and maize. Through this project, molecular genetics and physiological regulatory networks of plant architecture development and seed development which influence yield traits will be highlighted in rice and maize,which will provide a theoretical basis for the molecular designs of crop yield breeding. From 2016 January to December, we will perform investigations and organize academic.meetings, so as to summarize research progress, concise scientific objectives,which will significantly improve our original innovations in genetics and breeding of crop yield traits in our country.
“主要农作物产量性状的遗传网络解析”重大研究计划针对我国粮食安全的重大需求和生命科学的前沿领域,重点围绕水稻、玉米株型发育和籽粒形成关键基因的生物学功能分析;水稻、玉米株型发育、籽粒形成的遗传调控网络;水稻、玉米株型发育与籽粒形成之间的遗传互作调控网络和水稻、玉米高产育种的分子设计理论4大研究方向,解析水稻、玉米株型发育和籽粒形成这两个影响作物产量性状且密切相关的重要生物学过程的分子遗传及生理生化调控网络,为作物高产育种的分子设计提供理论基础。2016年1-12月将针对项目核心科学问题分别进行调研并召开学术交流研讨会,总结研究进展,进一步凝练科学目标,全面提升我国农作物产量性状遗传育种研究的原始创新能力。
