By using reactive processing methods, waster rubber powder (WRP) was introduced successfully into most of genral purpose plastics, such as PE, PP, PS, PVC, EVA, and POE, to prepare thermoplatic elastermers(TPE). The results showed that these reactive processing methods could be widely used in making TPE. Especially for PP, We prepared WRP wrapped with macromolecular compatilizer/PP, WRP in-sit grafted by MAH-HMD/MPP/PP and dynamic grafted by MAH and styrene/PP TPE. By using predigested models we illustrated the relationship between stress transferring modes in WRP/plastic TPE and interfaces of composite structure, viscoelasticity and other mechanic properties of plastic and WRP. On the base of various WRP/plastic TPE prepared, the relationship of structures and properties were investigated from different angles. TEM showed that the particles of WRP became fine considerably through reactive processing, whose least size is 1-20μm at single dimension. This find is significant to the theories of preparation and the setting up of some correlational models of WRP/plastic TPE.
