A microdisk structure with optical gain modulation that was designed basing on the field distribution of surface emitting mode is introduced. The surface emitting mode becomes lasing mode in such a microdisk laser. Microcavities from nitrides with bi-dimensional photonic crystal structure in the form of discontinuous arcs with a radial period of 100 to 300 nm is manufactured by using Electronic Beam Lithography technology. Due to the renewing of the Physics Building of Peking University, we were enforced to change the third-year plan. We concentrated more on related theoretical issues. We completed study on resonating property of passive optical microcavities and quantum theory for laser spectra. Based on obtained theoretical results, we are going to elaborate a full quantum theory for the parametric down-conversion nonlinear optical processes.
氮化物蓝光激光管是具有重要应用和巨大市场的发光器件。普通氮化物外延片中位错密度很高,限制了传统结构的氮化物激光管的工作寿命。在本申请项目中,彩和微腔结构以减少有源区位错总数,采用二维光子晶体结构提高微腔的品质因子,采用衍射光学元件改善微腔光输出特性,研制氮化物蓝光管微腔激光器,并开展相关物理问题的研究。
