儿童的背景学习：发展轨迹、认知神经机制以及影响因素

Contextual cueing refers to the implicit learning of spatial contexts. For children, it helps them remember the spatial environment better and search the environment faster. Hence, it is an important ability. Despite some preliminary studies, many fundamental questions such as the developmental trajectory, neural mechanisms, and cognitive correlates of children's contextual cueing effects are still unsolved. Based on the applicant's previous research, attention and working memory should impact children's contextual cueing. This projects aims to further investigate the above-mentioned research questions using ERP techniques and a series of behavioral experiments. This project includes two studies: (1) The developmental trajectory of contextual cueing and its cognitive correlates (working memory and attention). (2) The cognitive neural mechanisms of children's contextual cueing. Of theoretical importance, this project will further our understanding of the development of contextual cueing in specific and children's potentials and limits in spatial learning in general. It may also have real life implications in developing education programs and designing better environments for children.

背景学习指对空间背景的内隐学习加工过程。对于儿童来说，背景学习可以帮助他们尽快地熟悉空间环境、促进对环境的搜索，是一项重要的能力。尽管现有研究已经开展了对儿童背景学习的初步探索，但许多关键问题，如儿童背景学习的发展轨迹、神经机制以及影响因素等尚未得到完全解决。根据申请者的以往研究，认知因素如注意和工作记忆可能是影响儿童背景学习的主要因素。本项目将通过事件相关电位技术及一系列行为实验针对以上关键学术问题展开研究。本项目包括两个研究：（1）3-16岁儿童背景学习的发展轨迹及其认知影响因素（工作记忆和注意）。（2）儿童背景学习的认知神经机制。本研究在完善儿童背景学习的认识体系，理解儿童空间学习能力的潜能和局限等方面有重要的科学意义。另外，本研究也对培养儿童空间能力和设计儿童活动环境等方面有重要现实意义。
