To explore the environment protective effect of ecological treatment of manures by housefly larvae. The pig manures were ecologically treated by housefly larvae and the simple fermented non-treated pig manures as control .The following results were observed after ecological treatment:.1.The contents of 3-MI, BOD and COD in the treated pig manures were significantly lower than that of control.2. The number of colibacilliary colony significantly decreased in the manures treated with housefly larvae, and the extract of housefly larvae (both homogenate and supernatant) showed the remarkable anticolibacillary action in vitro.3. The breeding capability of housefly and mosquitoes reduced in the pig manures treated by housefly larvae.4. The content of total nitrogen, quick-acting phosphorous, total potassium, and the trace-elements iron and manganese significantly increased, but that of organic substance and total nitrogen decreased..These combined results showed that it is possible to reduce the environment pollution of manures by treatment with housefly larvae.
