网络使用对老年人执行功能的影响：行为和神经机制研究

Population ageing has become a prominent social issue in today's China. Cognitive aging is one of the reasons that account for decline in living independency and physical activity in older adults. Some researchers suggest that decline in executive function may underlie reduction in cognitive function (memory, reasoning, visual-spatial ability) in the elderly. Internet has changed our lives. Previous studies have revealed the positive effect of internet use on physical and mental health in older adults. However, little is known about the effect of internet use on executive function in the elderly. The purpose of this project is to investigate the effect of internet use on executive function in the older adults behaviorally and neurally. Behaviorally, we will examine whether internet use influences executive function in the elderly, and whether different types of internet use influence executive function in different ways. Neurally, we will investigate the brain activation between older internet “frequent users” and “never users”, either the activity in executive function related regions or the connectivity between executive function related regions. The findings of this project not only assist in understanding the basic information about internet use and executive function in the elderly, but also provide scientific evidence to help older adults with internet use and further reduce cognitive decline in aging.

人口老龄化已成为当今中国一个突出的社会问题，认知老化是限制老年人工作活动能力和降低其生活独立性的重要原因之一，一些研究者提出，执行功能的衰退是引起老年人日常认知功能（记忆、推理、视空间能力）衰退的主要原因。互联网的飞速发展正改变着我们的生活。过去的研究已经揭示了网络使用对老年人心理健康、身体健康的积极影响，然而，网络使用对老年人执行功能的影响还缺乏探讨和研究。本项目拟从行为学和神经机制两个方面出发，探讨网络使用对老年人执行功能的影响。行为学上，考察网络使用是否影响老年人的执行功能，以及不同的网络使用目的对老年人执行功能的影响是否不同。神经机制上，考察经常使用网络老年人和从不使用网络老年人脑活动的差异，包括执行功能相关脑区激活的差异，以及相关脑区之间有效性连接的差异。本项目的研究结果不仅有助于掌握老年人网络使用和执行功能的基本情况，也为帮助老年人使用网络进而延缓认知老化提供科学的依据和指导。

人类已经进入数字化时代，越来越多的老年人使用互联网。过去的研究已经揭示了网络使用对老年人心理健康、身体健康的积极影响，然而，网络使用对老年人执行功能的影响还缺乏探讨和研究。本项目结合了问卷法、量表法和实验法，考察了网络使用对老年人注意抑制能力、视觉搜索能力以及工作记忆能力的影响。结果发现，老年人的注意抑制能力和工作记忆能力可能并不受网络使用经验的影响，而视觉搜索能力受到网络使用经验的影响，并且，这种影响和网龄相关。本项目揭示了老年人网络使用和认知功能（执行功能）的基本情况，为帮助老年人使用网络进而延缓认知老化提供了科学的依据和指导。
