In this study, the full length of TASL30 cDNA has been sequenced and analysed to be a novel telomere-associated zinc finger gene. Northern blot analysis shows that TASL30 mRNA is expressed in early embryos but the expression level decreases during in older embryos with no mRNA detectable in all adult organs analyzed. To investigate the expression of TASL30 protein, an antibody against TASL30 protein has been prepared. Then Western blot analysis shows that the TASL30 protein is expressed in fetal liver but not in other fetal organs and the expression level of TASL30 is correlated with the hepatic development. All these suggests that TASL30 may involve in the development of fetal liver in early human fetuses.
