The MX [3-chloro-4-(dichloromethyl)-5-hydroxy-2-(5H)-furanone] was found to be the unique strong mutagen directly to germses in chlorinated drinking water.On the basis of the last fund which put importance on the synthesis and analysis of MX, in this project, MX in some tap water of tumor area of Jiangsu province was detected; and the precursors of formation MX, the factors and dynamics on the formation of MX by chlorinating, the relation between the formation of MX and other by-products was studied deeply. The results showed that the MX within running water of tumor area was not very high, TOC and the yields of MX have positive relationship, but the influences of pH, reaction temperature, reaction time, chlorine dose on the formation of MX, dichloroacetic acid (DCA) and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) are quite different. The precursors of formation MX do not exist as widely as reported by foreign researchers. Phenol compounds and replaced aromatic acids are not the precursors of formation MX. An unknown compound, which possesses the same selected ions of MS and the retention time of GC as methylated MX was, found during the chlorination on both phenol compounds and replaced aromatic acids. Therefore, mistake may be made when SIM mode is used for the analysis of MX. The unknown compound is a possible new disinfection by-product, and it was also found in some chlorinated drinking water. So further research is needed to confirm the new compound.This research not only fills the local blank, but also reaches the front of international research, and the studies of the precursors of formation MX and the detection of MX exactly has been a great creation. The result of this study can provide theories foundation for improving current chlorination disinfection, decreasing and doing away with the mutagen activity of the running water.
MX化合物是自来水氯化消毒产生的,使细菌和哺乳动物细胞致突变的潜在致癌副产物。本课题拟对氯化消毒过程中生成的MX前驱物种类和结构进一步研究;并以生成MX的主要前驱物富里酸为研究对象,研究其形成影响因素及MX与其它有毒富产物的生成之间的相互关系。为改进现有氯化消毒工艺,减小和去除自来水的致突变活性提供可靠的理论依据。
