In wireless communications, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) with a large number of antenna elements is termed large scale MIMO. Large scale MIMO, by fully exploring the potential of spatial channels, is key to the future 5th generation mobile communications. Under the framework of large scale MIMO, low-cost and low-power-consumption techniques are gaining more and more attention all over the world. However, its theory is far from complete, and there is a lot of work remaining to be done. In this context, the project focuses on high-efficiency transmitting and receiving techniques in large scale MIMO systems. We analyze the performance of two important power and cost reducing techniques, i.e., analog-and-digital hybrid precoding at the transmitter and low-resolution analog-to-digital conversion at the receiver. We also develop efficient algorithms for their usage in practical situations, and jointly optimize the transceiver from a system design perspective by adapting to the characteristics of the millimeter wave channels. To sum up, this project will make a positive contribution to building low-cost, low-power-consumption, and high-efficiency communication systems with large-scale MIMO.
无线通信中采用大规模天线阵列的MIMO技术被称为大规模MIMO,而利用大规模MIMO充分挖掘空间资源,是未来构建5G移动通信系统的关键所在。在大规模MIMO框架下,对低成本、低功耗收发技术的探寻,正得到国际上越来越多的关注,而相关的理论体系尚未得到系统的建立。本项目拟对大规模MIMO高效收发技术的理论与方法开展研究,对发射机模数混合预编码和接收机低精度模数转换这两种降低功耗和成本的重要技术,开展深入理论性能分析,着力解决非理想条件下的算法实现问题,并紧密结合毫米波信道的特点,从系统设计层面对收发端进行联合优化。本项目将为构建低成本、低功耗、高效能的大规模MIMO无线传输系统奠定基础。
大规模MIMO是未来无线通信的物理层关键技术之一,它采用了大规模天线阵列的MIMO技术,可以充分挖掘无线传播的空间资源。目前在大规模MIMO框架下,对低成本低功耗的收发技术进行探寻,正得到国际上越来越多的关注,而相关的理论体系尚未得到系统的建立。本项目针对大规模MIMO高效收发技术的理论与方法开展研究,在充分调研的基础上凝练出密集网络贝叶斯推理快速近似算法这一基础数学问题,并以接收机低精度模数转换和毫米波通信两个应用场景作为主要抓手,深入分析理论性能,着力解决非理想条件下的算法实现问题,从系统设计层面对收发端进行联合优化。项目以发表学术论文和申请专利作为主要成果(12篇SCI,2篇EI,3项专利申请),为构建低成本、低功耗、高效能的大规模MIMO无线传输系统提供理论基础。
