The Paleozoic Gobi Altay orogenic belt in Southwest Mongolia runs as the incorporative orogenic segment, separated by the Tseel deformation zone as the eastern extension of the grand Irtysh lineament, of Lake Altay orogenic sub-belt in the north and East Junggar orogenic sub-belt in the south..The Gobi Altay orogenic belt, tectonically located between the Central Mongolia microcontinent and the Gobi Tianshan Orogen, is just the pivotal portion for the regional tectonic comparison and linkage of East Central Asian Orogenic Belt (ECAOB). Because of formerly lack of systematic anatomy of lithotectonic components,it is not yet to reach the consensus on the integrated understanding on accretionary regime and spatial-temporal relationship among the Lake Gobi Altay and the East Junggar as well as their eastern united extension, the Middle Gobi orogenic belts. .Based on our existing geological investigation, the main task of this project will be designed for analyzing the lithotectonic components of the Mongolian Gobi Altay Orogen through tectonic profiling along a trunk geological cross-section within a transverse stripped tract. By means of the detailed profiling, combined with systematic analysis of geological and tectonic relationship, and geochronology, petrology and geochemistry of the lithotectonic units developed within Mongolian Gobi Altay Orogen, this project, accordingly, aims to reconstruct accretionary regime, regional tectonic linkage and framework of the Mongolian Gobi Altay orogenic region. Undoubtedly, the results of this project could provide new constraints on the tectonic evolution of ECAOB.
蒙古西南部古生代戈壁阿尔泰造山带,以额尔齐斯断裂带的东延段车勒变形带为界,是北侧蒙古湖区阿尔泰构造带和南侧东准噶尔构造带的汇合部位。.在大地构造上,戈壁阿尔泰造山带介于中蒙古地块和戈壁天山造山带之间,因此,是中亚造山带东段进行大地构造对比、连接分析的关键地段。戈壁阿尔泰造山带由于过去缺乏系统的岩石大地构造组成分析,制约了东准噶尔构造带与湖区阿尔泰构造带之间及与其东延段蒙古中戈壁增生带之间的整体的增生大地构造体制和时空关系认识。.本项目拟立足于已有的工作基础,以蒙古西南部戈壁阿尔泰造山带古生代岩石大地构造组成单元分析为主要研究内容,选取贯通该造山带的廊带主干剖面,通过对不同时代、不同性质增生构造单元的剖面划分及地质、构造关系分析,进而,开展高精度年代学测定与岩石地球化学研究,达到恢复该地区增生大地构造体制、探索区域大地构造连接关系与格架的目标,从而为中亚造山带东段形成、演化提供新的解释依据。
