This study elucidated the role of interaction and the molar ratio change of two different fragments , kaliuretic peptide(KP) and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) , from atrial natriuretic factors prohormone in elderly essential hypertension. The results showed that comparing with the control group , the plasma molar ratio of KP/ANP in elder essential hypertension(EH) and elderly spontaneously hypertensive rat(SHR) were decreased significantly. Moreover, some kind of medicine such as aritholol ,imidapril, amlodipine and losartan could increased the plasma molar ratio of KP/ANP in elder EH and elderly SHR .Hyperisotonic natrium muriaticum accelerate the secretion of KP and ANP. However, the secretary reaction for two peptides are much different. KP trend to be fast and short. By contrast, the release of ANP are slow and long. .The degradation of KP in the kidney of SHR and control group Wistar-kyoto(WKY) rats are no significant different. On opposition , the catabolism of ANP show a significant different between SHR and WKY rats. Northern blot analysis revealed that ANP gene expression occurs in SHR and WKY rats myocardial cell .ANP prohormone messenger RNA gene expression in SHR was significantly lower than in WKY when myocardial cell be treated by exogenous KP and ANP. The results suggest that interamolecular regulation of atrial natriuretic factors prohormone maybe play a role in pathogenesis of elderly essential hypertension.
