Lunar and planetary scientists are continuously attaching great importance to the research on morphology characteristics of impact craters and lunar chronology. In order to decrease errors of the lunar chronology, the project setting simple craters as the object. And it will extract the multi-parameter of the simple crater's morphological and degraded features by using the high resolution images and DEM data. The project will go into more research on crater's degeneration, geological unit's age dating and those factors which can bring more influence. Subsequently the accurate quantitative relation between the changing features of the lunar crater's morphology, timing sequence of the stratum will be established. In conclusion, this study provides a more precise and more dependable approach for geological evolution on the lunar surface. Main research objects in the project are as follows. First is researching on the mathematical methods to express the characteristics of crater's morphology and degradation. What's more, the salient features on morphological evolution and the timing sequence of lunar craters will be studied. Furthermore, the lunar chronology is another critical part of the research. This research not only can be enhancing the dating accuracy of minor geological unit, but also can obtain more accurate degradation model which varies with time. In addition, it can calculate the history of lunar geological evolution through the application of the degeneration model and analyze the changing laws of craters' morphology in different age or region.
撞击坑形貌特征和月表年代学研究一直倍受月球和行星科学家所重视。本项目从解决月表年代学面临的误差大、影响因素多的问题出发,以简单撞击坑为研究对象,利用高分辨率遥感影像数据和DEM数据,提取月球简单撞击坑形貌和退化状态的多参数特征,对撞击坑退化和地质单元测年及其影响因素等问题进行深化研究,获得更高精度的撞击坑形貌特征变化与月表地层时序的定量关系,为月表地质演化过程研究提供更精确可靠的新途径。项目通过撞击坑形貌特征和退化的数学表达方法、月球撞击坑的形貌特征演化与时序规律,以及月表年代学等三个方面的研究,不仅提高了小地质单元的测年精度,而且获得更精确可靠的撞击坑形貌特征随时间变化的退化模型。通过研究成果的应用示范,可分析不同时代和不同区域的月表撞击坑形貌变化规律,反演月表地质演化历史。
